Mission 7: Give It Wireless Messages
Big Question
How can a phone or another device send a message to the robot brain?
Your Mission
Use the wireless message idea to send text to the robot and show it on the matrix. The robot brain becomes a message receiver.
Parts
- Bluepill on breadboard
- Display or LED matrix
- Phone or wireless message source, if used by the lesson
- Jumper wires
Build
Use the display wiring from the earlier missions.
If your lesson adds a wireless module, connect it only after checking the breadboard guide.
Connect
- Connect the board in ModuLab.
- Open the message or matrix panel.
- Send one short test message first.
Try It
Send messages such as:
- HELLO
- HELP
- READY
- GO
Watch how the display handles longer words.
Success Check
- A message reaches the robot brain.
- The display changes when a new message is sent.
- You can explain where the message started and where it ended.
Debug
If messages do not appear:
- Try a shorter word.
- Check the board is still connected.
- Check the correct panel is open.
- Send a normal display test to prove the matrix still works.
Remix
Make a secret code:
- 1 means start
- 2 means stop
- 3 means celebrate
Choose the display response for each code.
Robot Brain Idea
Communication lets robots work with people and other devices. A robot that can receive messages can react to instructions without being touched.
